This play explores the choices that confront those charged with responsibility for law and justice, when a country seized by fear turns for salvation to a "leader" who cares nothing for human dignity, human rights, democracy or the rule of law. A timely topic when Lawyers on Stage first presented it in 2018, it is even more timely after January 6, 2021, as our democracy hangs as much in the balance as Germany's did then.
