About The Event
Global Works Productions presents an
Audition Workshop
with
Margaret VandenBerghe
and
Bob De Dea
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you feel prepared?
Having trouble choosing what material to audition with?
How do you bring genuine emotion into a monologue?
Are your audition pieces right for you?
You generally have two minutes to make an impression (the most common audition format). All the people in the room know about you is what is on your resume and how you look you’re your picture is taken by a professional photographer. How do you show them more? And how do you make the best of that brief time?
With Bob and Margaret guiding you, you will learn how to:
Ø Be prepared;
Ø Use nerves to your advantage;
Ø Enter the room;
Ø Slate properly;
Ø Trust the material (if you’ve done your homework);
Ø Give a dynamic, authentic, and memorable audition;
Ø Connect with the material and display truth in your depiction of character; and
Ø Respect the words given to you by the composer/lyricist and use the music to express them.
In this session, conducted in a group setting, you will be given individual attention, direction, advice, and the chance to ask any questions you have about the process of auditioning, your material, or protocols.
